Information and Forms

Participation: All 7th and 8th grade boys and girls are welcome to sign up for the soccer program. In past years the composition of the teams has varied, but we try to have both a boys and a girls team. A soccer roster consists of roughly 23 players. Our typical participation level is around 18 players per team. Each player is required to pay a fee that covers the costs for coaching, referees, equipment, and other miscellaneous needs of the program. Players of all skill levels, from beginner to club, are welcome to join. Players are required to be students at the school, have a physical on file with the Middle School or with the Soccer Coaches, and fill out a medical release form and deliver it to the Soccer Coaches. Any parent providing transportation to groups of players will have to fill out a Transportation release.

Season: Practices begin in mid to late February and the season concludes at the end of April. The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletics Association requires that teams play no more than 3 scrimmages, 6 regular games, and 1 tournament. Typically the teams will meet twice a week. Early in the season this will consist of two training sessions at the DC Soccer Facilities. As the season progresses games will substitute for one training session during the week. All training and games will be during the week with the exception of the tournament. Training will begin after school and will conclude at 3:30 p.m. Parents are expected to promptly, prior to 3:30 p.m., arrive to pick up their player or to find rides with other players. Of course, parents are welcome to attend and watch practice.

Commitment: Because the DCMS Soccer program is not a school sponsored sport, a unique commitment from the parents and players is necessary. Training and games take place after school. Thus, in addition to the fee, parents are expected to provide transportation to away games, help coordinate rides for other players to away games, establish a network of communication in the event of last minute cancellations, participate in with concessions at home games, and in the event we host a tournament provide support to the coaches in administering the tournament.
